Minnesota Twins Bring Back Tri-Coloured Batting Helmet for Home Games

If you thought you’d already seen all the changes the Minnesota Twins were making to their uniforms in 2023, well, you were wrong (and so was I!).

This evening the Twins surprised your friendly Canadian sports logo and uniform reporter by revealing the ballclub would be wearing a retro-inspired tri-coloured batting helmet when taking the plate in their home whites this season.

Take a look:

The Twins had previously worn this tri-coloured helmet during the mid-to-late 1970s; later, catcher Joe Mauer brought this style back (only while playing defensively behind the plate) in the 2000s.

The major difference between the original and the 2023 version is the re-colouring of the “T” from white to navy blue; the “TC” logo itself has also been updated, but this was previously covered back in November when the Twins announced their logo refresh.

In less exciting but still worth mentioning news, the Twins will wear their new “M Star” logo on their road batting helmets and the cream-coloured “TC” logo on the helmets worn with their alternate home “Twin-Cities” uniform.
