After launching a new crest earlier this month, Ireland’s national football team has a new on-field look thanks to their new kit supplier.
The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) announced last week that it had signed a new contract with British sportswear company Castore, and on Monday, March 20, they released the first national team home kit under the new collaboration.
The kit is predominantly green, with white and orange pinstripes down the front. The pinstripes themselves alternate between solid color and a series of dashes.
The V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs are white, with green and orange stripes through the center. The raglan sleeves and back of the jersey are solid green, with the word “ÉIRE” printed in white on the back collar.
The green jerseys paired with white shorts and green socks. The shorts have green triangular inserts on the sides, while the socks have an orange stripe near the top, a white Castore logo on the back and a white shamrock from the national team crest on the front.
Before signing with Castore, the FAI worked with Umbro on national team kits. Castore has supplied kits for several top-flight football clubs around Europe this season, including Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Wolverhampton, UD Almería, Sevilla FC, Bayer Leverkusen and Rangers FC.
The new Ireland home kit is available for pre-order through the FAI’s online store. Pro versions retail for €105 (men’s and women’s short sleeves) and €110 (men’s long sleeves), while replicas are priced at €65 for junior sizes and €80 for men’s and women’s sizes.
