It’s here!
Major League Baseball and Nike this morning announced the details of their 2023 City Connect uniform collection, including the teams getting the new looks this season as well as when we can expect to see each of them making their on-field débuts.
This marks the third season of the league’s new City Connect uniform program with Nike, developed to “celebrate the bond between each club and its city” while also exploring “the personality, values and customs that make each community and their residents unique.”

The 2023 Nike MLB City Connect schedule will expand the series to include the Atlanta Braves (on-field debut April 8th), Baltimore Orioles (May 26), Cincinnati Reds (May 19), Pittsburgh Pirates (June 27), Seattle Mariners (May 5), and Texas Rangers (April 21). At the conclusion of those six, we will have 20 of the league’s 30 clubs with a City Connect uniform in their wardrobe.
“Over the course of its first two seasons, the Nike MLB City Connect Series has been the most successful consumer product initiative we’ve ever had,” said MLB Chief Revenue Officer Noah Garden in the release. “The overwhelmingly positive response from our fans is clear when you see ballparks full of these distinct designs and colours. Our Clubs have focused so much time and effort with Nike to create these exceptional uniforms for their fan bases, and it shows in every last detail. We look forward to seeing even more of our parks filled with City Connect jerseys this season.”
As was the case in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the City Connect program, New Era and Stance collaborated with the clubs, the league, and Nike in order to develop a matching City Connect cap design and sock design.
First up in 2023 is the Atlanta Braves, who released their City Connect uniform alongside this announcement from the league. The Braves’ design celebrates the legacy of Hank Aaron and his chase for baseball immortality in the early 1970s as he approached and surpassed Babe Ruth’s all-time home run record of 714. The Nike MLB City Connect Uniform Series was first launched in April 2021 with yellow and baby blue Boston Red Sox uniforms, a tribute to the annual Boston Marathon. Since that day nearly two years ago, we’ve seen fourteen other teams share their respective stories and designs showing what they believe makes their community, their city, and their fans the greatest in the baseball world.
