Canadian Premier League side Cavalry FC are ready to climb to new heights in their new primary and alternate kits for 2023, made by Macron.
The club — based in Calgary, Alberta — unveiled the new kits at an event at Kildares Ale House in the city’s southwest on Wednesday, April 5.
The front of the primary kit diagonally fades from black to red then back to black to put a new twist on the sash usually found on the club’s home jerseys. In the black area on the bottom left corner is a red outline of mountain landscape, a nod to the nearby Rocky Mountains. The scene also includes a bison, “a symbol of strength, unity, and resilience,” according to the CanPL’s website.
The raglan sleeves are solid red, and the sleeve cuffs and collar feature black and green trim.
The alternate kit, meanwhile, is predominantly black, with narrow red and green striping at the collar and cuffs. In another take on the sash, a white lightning bolt strikes diagonally across the front of the shirt, “igniting passion within the club.”
Cavalry FC open their 2023 Canadian Premier League season with a visit to Hamilton, Ontario, to face defending champions Forge FC on Saturday, April 15. They don’t play their home opener at Spruce Meadows until Sunday, April 30, when they host Winnipeg-based Valour FC.
