The Florida State football program unveiled new uniforms during Saturday’s spring game at Doak Campbell Stadium, marking the Seminoles’ first significant update since the 2014 season.

The new uniforms are on Nike’s Vapor Fusion (F.U.S.E.) template and most notably scale down the use of the unique tribal pattern introduced with the previous set. It remains on the collar but is now on the sleeve cuffs rather than the sleeve caps.

The pattern – which incorporates the Seminole Tribe’s symbols for arrow, man on horse and fire – is now reminiscent of the designs that Florida State used from 1994-2013, while the numbers move from the shoulders to the sleeve, where they haven’t been since the 1997 season.

Florida State will only have garnet and white jerseys for the upcoming season, as well as gold, garnet and white pants, which all feature the Seminole head logo on both hips. Pair that with a gold or white helmet and the program will have 12 uniform combinations to choose from in 2023.

Several alterations were needed the last time Florida State unveiled new uniforms, including altering the shades of garnet and gold on the helmets, removing the cross spears and switching from gold numbers to garnet on the white road jersey and gold to white on the garnet home jersey.

Aside from the collar, which is truncated due to the new template’s cowcatcher-style design, the new uniforms feel more like Florida State than the last set. They’ll make their debut when the Seminoles take on LSU in Orlando on Sept. 3.
