The Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Elks are offering fans a novel chance to get into the action.
The Elks announced this week that, as part of their new “In The Game” program, they’re offering fans the chance to put their names on the ‘EE’ helmet decals that the team will wear during their 2023 home opener against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday, June 11.
The names will be printed in a darker shade of green on the regular ‘EE’ decal. A total of 90 spots are available, 45 names on each side of the helmet. The club slogan “OUR TEAM. OUR CITY.” will also appear on the decal.
The Elks mocked up a decal with the names of team legends to demonstrate the concept.
Each of the 90 fans whose name appears on the decal will also receive a framed set of game-worn decals, including the ‘EE’ logo, a Canadian flag, a CFL logo and a tribute to running back Christian Saulsberry, who was shot and killed in Memphis, Tennessee, in December 2022. Each set of decals will be numbered and will come with a certificate of authenticity.
The program marks the first time in Club history that fans’ names will be part of the team’s on-field uniform, illustrating the Elks’ commitment to giving fans unique opportunities to connect with the team and create memories that last a lifetime.
