While there are no hints yet as to what it might look like, the Canadian Football League’s Montreal Alouettes are set to unveil a new alternate jersey sometime this summer.
The Alouettes announced the themes for their 2023 home games on Tuesday, May 16. And buried in the notes for their July 1 “Family Game” against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers was this little nugget:
Enfin belle surprise avec le dévoilement du 3e uniforme de l’équipe.
… which translates to …
Finally, a big surprise with the unveiling of the team’s third uniform.
This is the first time the Alouettes have made mention of a new alternate uniform. Interestingly, it isn’t included in the English-language version of the announcement on the Alouettes’ website. It’s also unclear from the wording in the announcement if players will wear the uniform during the July 1 game, or if it will simply be unveiled at some point during the game.
The “Family Game” will also feature $5 tickets for kids under 16, $2 hot dogs, on-site entertainment and a halftime mascot show.
The Alouettes last introduced new jerseys in 2019 as part of an overhaul of their entire brand package.
Last season, though, they introduced revamped helmets with smaller red “M-bird” logos outlined in white on either side of a blue shell, and a red stripe bordered in white down the middle.
