Reports: CFL’s Ottawa REDBLACKS to Get New Uniform in 2024

So far this offseason, we’ve seen three Canadian Football League teams unveil new uniforms. And, if reports are accurate, a fourth team could be joining the new uniform club next season.

CFL news site 3DownNation reported on Friday, May 26, that the Ottawa REDBLACKS are slated to introduce a new uniform in 2024, citing “multiple sources.” They also say that the REDBLACKS “won’t be getting a total makeover.

“Instead of having an entirely new set of uniforms, only one of the three they currently use will be modified and changed.”

The REDBLACKS currently wear a black jersey at home with red side panels, a red collar and red striping on the shoulders. They introduced new road and alternate uniforms in 2021. The white away jersey has red raglan-style sleeves and a red-and-black plaid pattern on the collar and side panels. The red alternate jersey has black sleeves and side panels.

In August 2022, the REDBLACKS wore a retro-inspired helmet for their Legacy Night at TD Place. The white “R” from the team’s primary logo, minus the saw blade background, appeared on either side of the black helmet shell, with two red stripes and one white stripe down the middle.

This offseason, the BC Lions and Toronto Argonauts both introduced new home and away uniforms, while the Calgary Stampeders unveiled a new road uniforms to match their retro home uniforms. The Montreal Alouettes will also unveil an alternate jersey at their home game on July 1.
