New Paris Saint-Germain Home Kits Inspired by Early 2000s – Plus Other Recent Unveilings Around Europe

French Ligue 1 powerhouses Paris Saint-Germain are drawing on classic kits from the early 2000s as inspiration for their new home kit for 2023-24, made by Nike.

The navy blue home kits feature PSG’s signature red vertical stripe on the front, but this time it’s set to the left side of the shirt and runs underneath the club crest. It’s flanked by two white stripes, and all three stripes fade to blue as they make their way down the shirt.

“This iconic jersey reinterprets a shirt worn by Parisian players in the early 2000s and captures the essence of Paris Saint-Germain through a striking design. The red and white stripes, symbolic of the club, gradually blend into a dynamic blue, reminiscent of the lights blending into the Parisian skyline.”

The back of the kit features a small French flag just above the player name and below the curved seam across the shoulder of the Nike Dri-FIT ADV template. The flag denotes “the pride of Paris Saint-Germain as the most successful club in France, shining the hexagonal colors beyond the capital and resonating worldwide with passion.” The Nike swoosh on the crest is red, while other sponsor logos are white.

CRYSTAL PALACE – Home

English side Crystal Palace are marking the 10th anniversary of their promotion to the Premier League with their 2023-24 home kit, made by Macron. They’ve eschewed their usual red and blue home kits for a half-red, half-blue front with a thin white stripe down the center. The front also features a tonal silhouette of the original Crystal Palace, built to house the Great Exhibition of 1851. White stripes run down the sides of the jersey, and white detailing appears on the collars and sleeve cuffs. The back of the shirt is also half red and half blue, but without the this white stripe on the top part where names and numbers are printed.

Even though they were doomed to relegation on Saturday, Leicester City broke out their new 2023-24 home kit, made by Adidas, for their final match of the 2022-23 Premier League season against West Ham. The solid blue kit uses Adidas’s new template, with a white V-neck collar, shoulder stripes and taping down the sides and across the back hem. The side panels are gold.

German Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach is evoking their most successful decade, the 1970s, with their 2023-24 home kit, made by Puma. During that decade, Gladbach won the Bundesliga title five times, along with two UEFA Cups and one DFB-Pokal.

The kit is solid white, with green, white and black striping at the sleeve cuffs. The green polo collar has white and black trim, with black striping near the V-neck opening and a green chevron underneath.

Gladbach broke out the new kits for their final match of the 2022-23 Bundesliga season on Saturday, May 27, a 2-0 win over FC Augsburg.

SL BENFICA – Home

The collar also has a red insert with white trim at the front. The Adidas shoulder stripes are white while the taping down the side and across the back hem is gold.
