Perennial Italian Serie A contenders AC Milan are putting a futuristic spin on their traditional red-and-black stripes for their 2023-24 home kits, made by Puma.
The Rossoneri unveiled the new kits on Thursday, June 1, and their men’s team will wear them for the first time on Sunday, June 4, against Hellas Verona. The design blends a red base with darker red and black lines of varying widths to create both the stripes AC Milan is known for and “a repeat ‘M’ visual in the centre of the jersey through the tonal stripes that represent the city of Milan and the progressive nature of the Club.”
The sleeve cuffs and V-neck collar are solid black. An “AC MILAN” wordmark is printed on the back of the collar. The back of the jersey also has a solid red panel for legibility of names and numbers.
The new home kit will be paired with solid black shorts that have a red triangular insert on each side, near the hem, and black socks with two red stripes around the calf.
US SALERNITANA 1919 – Home & Away
AC Milan’s Serie A counterparts US Salernitana 1919 unveiled both their home and away kits on their social media channels on Friday, June 2. The home kit is solid maroon with a white houndstooth pattern trimming the sleeve cuffs and the polo collar — a nod to kits the club wore in the mid-1990s. The white away kit features a sublimated turquoise print inspired by the Gulf of Salerno, along with a maroon collar. Both kits have manufacturer Zeus’s new WaveKnit technology, with a wave pattern knitted into the jersey fabric for breathability.
REAL BETIS – Home
Spanish La Liga side Real Betis is taking inspiration from a local gathering space for their 2023-24 home kits, made by Hummel. The shirt features Betis’s trademark green vertical stripes on a white base. The green stripes contain a tonal diamond pattern inspired by the pavement in the Plaza Nueva in the club’s home city of Seville. The sleeves and cuffs are solid white, as is the panel for names and numbers on the back, while the V-neck collar has a green stripe through the center. This is the first home kit to use Real Betis’s updated crest, which was introduced last September. It will likely be worn for the first time in a testimonial match honoring retiring captain Joaquín Sánchez on Tuesday, June 6.
SPORTING CLUBE DE PORTUGAL – Home
Portuguese Primeira Liga giants Sporting CP are looking back on 20 years of memories made at the José Alvalade Stadium with their 2023-24 home kit, made by Nike. The front of the shirt features Sporting’s usual home motif of green and white hoops, with solid green shoulders and sleeves. The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are black. The back of the shirt has a solid green panel for legibility of names and numbers. The logo of sponsor Super Bock beer is arched across the upper back to fit the seams of Nike’s Dri-FIT ADV template.
