Tottenham Hotspur Aims for ‘Modern Classic’ With 2023-24 Home Kit – Plus Other Recent European Launches

English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur is looking to make a lasting impression with their new home kit for 2023-24, made by Nike.

Spurs unveiled their new kit on Thursday, June 8, saying on their website they were aiming to create a “modern classic.” The white shirt contains patterns of light grey blocks, diagonal lines and concentric circles that “draws inspiration from the sounds of London N17 and the area’s broadcasting history.” The crew neck collar is white, while the sleeve cuffs are solid blue.

The white shirt will be paired with white shorts and socks — the first time they’ve worn white shorts at home since 2012-13. Tottenham’s women’s teams will wear blue shorts with the home kit as part of a wider movement away from white shorts among women’s teams. The blue shorts will not be sold at retail, though.

Along with the shirt, Tottenham also introduced a new name and number font for cup competitions. Names will be printed in all lowercase numbers, and the tall, thin blue numbers have a white inline.

Tottenham will wear the new home kit for the first time on July 18 against West Ham United in Perth, Australia — the first match of their preseason Asia-Pacific tour.

REAL SOCIEDAD – Home

Spanish side Real Sociedad’s 2023-24 home kit was already mentioned here on SportsLogos.net after it gave us our first look at the new La Liga in color on a sleeve patch, but here is the Macron-manufactured kit on its own. The club is putting a literal twist on its traditional blue and white vertical stripes, with a 3D effect added to the blue stripes so that they resemble twisted bars of metal. This idea came from renowned sculptor and Sociedad supporter Iñigo Manterola as a symbol of “this communion between art and soccer.” The shirt also features a dark blue polo collar and sleeve cuffs.

GETAFE CF – Home, Away and Third

After telling the story behind the right side of their crest on their kits in 2022-23, Spanish La Liga side Getafe CF is highlighting the left side with their home, away and third kits for 2023-24. The cross on Getafe’s shield is writ large on all three Joma-manufactured kits — though tonally on the blue home and the light blue third kit — and represents the “Cerro de los Ángeles as the geographical center of the Iberian Peninsula. In it appears reflected the Sacred Heart that crowns the monument, identified in the emblem with the red and the cross in yellow.”

RANGERS FC – Home

Scottish Premiership side Rangers FC are ready for the future while honoring their past in their 2023-24 home kits, made by Castore. The blue kits features a jacquard pattern all over the front, back and sleeves that forms tonal vertical stripes from a distance. The V-neck collar has red and white striping, while the “RFC” monogram is embroidered in white on the left chest.

GALATASARAY – Home

Galatasaray will defend their Turkish Süper Lig title next year in new home kits made by Nike. The club’s traditional half-yellow, half-red look returns without any of the black embellishments found on the 2022-23 version. The crew neck collar is red, while the sleeve cuffs match their respective sides of the body of the shirt. The back of the jersey has a large yellow panel for name and number legibility.

FC PORTO – Home

“Simplicity and tradition dominate FC Porto’s main jersey” for 2023-24, the Portuguese Primeira Liga powerhouses said as they unveiled their new kits this week. The front of the shirt features Porto’s traditional blue and white vertical stripes, anchored by solid blue sleeves and a black crew neck collar. The back of the shirt is solid blue. The cuff of the right sleeve is white with a blue New Balance flash.
