Confirming our report from earlier this week, the Sacramento Kings officially revealed their Statement Edition uniforms on Wednesday afternoon, just two days after unveiling their Association and Icon sets.

The new Jordan Brand uniform pulls inspiration from the Kings’ 1994-97 alternate design, which was half black and half purple with an arched wordmark and white checkerboard pattern down the sides.

Rather than split colors like the original design, Sacramento opted for a gradient that goes hand in hand with the franchise lighting a purple beam into the sky above Golden 1 Center following a victory.

The white wordmark is also arched on the Statement uniform but includes the full team name in the Kings’ current font, which was introduced ahead of the 2016-17 season alongside a new logo set.

The checkerboard pattern is much more subtle on the Statement uniforms, meanwhile, as it alternates between purple and black instead of purple and white like the original design.

Lastly, the new uniform is complete with the Sacramento’s partial crown logo on the waistband and the dribbling lion logo in the checkers at the bottom of the shorts. Both logos are white to match the typography.

This marks the first update to the Kings’ Statement set since Nike took over the league contract in 2017-18. The previous uniform featured a sublimated design from the city flag throughout the black uniform.
