Confirming our report from last month, the New Orleans Pelicans unveiled their new Statement Edition uniforms on Tuesday morning.

The red uniforms swap the Pelicans’ wordmark for an arched “Crescent City” wordmark above and below the numbers, which are now blue with a white stroke. The collar is also rounded after previously being a v-neck.

There are navy blue, gold and white stripes down the sides of the uniform, as well, which descend in thickness from front to back and replace a design that was inspired by the street lamps in the French Quarter.

Of course, this could offer a hint at the design of New Orleans’ new Association and Icon Edition uniforms, which – as we reported when the franchise updated its global logo and wordmark – will be unveiled ahead of the 2024-25 season.

The uniform is complete with the Pelicans’ primary icon on the bottom of the shorts and their secondary ball logo on the waistband. This marks the first update to the red alternate uniform since it was introduced ahead of the 2014-15 season.

“(The uniforms) bring a vintage feel that represents our young franchise and gives a unique take on the red uniform that continues to complement our navy and white uniforms,” senior vice president and chief operating officer Ben Hales said

Like the rest of the NBA, New Orleans is also set to reveal a new City Edition uniform for the 2023-24 season in late October or early November.
