The 2023 college football season begins in earnest this weekend, with 87 games across the Football Bowl Subdivision level between Thursday and Monday. With that, we’ve compiled a comprehensive list of all of the uniform, logo and field changes that have taken place this year.
But before we get started with the team-by-team breakdown, we most note a few changes that impact college football as a whole. That includes new sponsors for three bowl games, including the Pop-Tarts Bowl, 68 Ventures Bowl and Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl.
Pop-Tarts replaces Cheez-It as the sponsor of one of the two bowl games at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium, while 68 Ventures steps in for LendingTree of the annual postseason game in Mobile, Ala. The Frisco Bowl did not have a sponsor last season, meanwhile.
Additionally, the Birmingham Bowl, Camellia Bowl (Montgomery), Cure Bowl (Orlando), Holiday Bowl (San Diego), L.A. Bowl, Military Bowl (Annapolis, Md.), Myrtle Beach Bowl and New Mexico Bowl are all currently without title sponsors.
Elsewhere, Nike’s Vapor F.U.S.E. template – which debuted with Oregon in 2019 and was used by Georgia and Ohio State in last season’s College Football Playoff – is now widespread after a three-year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
adidas and Under Armour also have new templates, though the former (PrimeKnit A1 Ghost) is restricted to select programs and the latter (unnamed) is used by Group of Five schools. adidas also changed its manufacturer’s mark and no longer includes the wordmark below the three stripes.
Finally, the Heisman Trophy Trust unveiled an updated logo for the Heisman Memorial Trophy, which is widely considered the most prestigious individual award in college football. It was designed by our friends at Joe Bosack & Co.
Now to the team-by-team changes across the country…
