USHL’s Fargo Force Drop Blue from Color Scheme, Unveil New Uniforms

Fargo, North Dakota’s entry in the United States Hockey League is aiming to be a Force to be reckoned with this season in their new uniforms, unveiled on Friday, September 8.

The Fargo Force introduced their new look on social media on Friday, September 8. The team has dropped blue from their color scheme, which now consists of black, silver and white.

The Force’s new home and road jerseys follow roughly the same template as the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, and both feature the club’s full roundel logo. The front, back and shoulders of the home jersey are white, and the sleeves have a black panel near the top and a dark grey stripe at the elbow, with a narrower, light grey stripe underneath. A black stripe runs around the hem, with a narrower silver stripe on top. The collar is black with silver trim and a USHL logo at the front.

Numbers on the jersey sleeves are set in a white block font with a silver outline. None of the photos that the Force posted to social media Friday showed the names or numbers on the back of the home jerseys.

The road uniforms have a dark grey base and black panels on the sleeve that cover the upper arms and elbows. Below that panel are two narrower stripes, one white and one light grey. The black hem striping also has two narrower stripes on top in the same colors. The collar is black with white trim.

The names and numbers on the backs of the road jerseys are set in a white block font. The number has a thick black outline.

A smidgen of blue remains on both the home and road jerseys in the form of a strip inside the collar, where the team name is spelled out in white.

The Force’s new third jersey is a bit simpler than the home and road sets. It features the stylized “F” from the team logo on its own on the front. Two sets of grey and white sets run around each sleeve and the waist. The collar is black with white trim. The numbers on the sleeves and back are one-color white and set in a different font than the home and road sets.

All three jerseys are manufactured by Title Wave Sports, the official uniform supplier of the USHL.

The USHL is the top junior hockey league sanctioned by USA Hockey. The Force have been in the league since the 2008-09 season, and won the Clark Cup championship in 2018.

The Force will take the ice in their new duds for the first time during the Dick’s Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, from September 20 to 25. All 16 USHL teams play their opening two regular season games at the event, giving pro and college scouts a chance to see some of the best junior hockey players in the U.S. at one time.

The Force take on the Waterlook Black Hawks on Friday, September 22, and the Des Moines Buccaneers on Saturday, September 23. They return to Scheels Arena in Fargo on Saturday, September 30, to face the Omaha Lancers.
