Although they won’t be officially unveiled until mid-November, a member of the SportsLogos.net forums recently leaked the Golden State Warriors’ 2023-24 City Edition uniforms

The jerseys, which are predominantly black with two-tone yellow trim around the collar and arm holes, feature a yellow “San Francisco” wordmark on the chest above yellow drop shadow numbers.

This will mark just the third time since the Warriors adopted the Golden State moniker ahead of the 1971-72 season that “San Francisco” appears on their jerseys, joining the 1962-63 Hardwood Classic and 1963-64 Classic Edition uniforms they wore in 2009-10 and 2019-20, respectively.

The black shorts, meanwhile, include a yellow rope-like pattern around the waistband, two yellow stripes down the sides that wrap around the legs and a stylized “GSW” monogram on the bottom left thigh.

While it’s not quite clear what the pattern represents, the logo on the waistband is reminiscent of the sun in the flag of the Philippines, which also has eight rays for each province that had significant involvement in the 1896 revolution against Spain.

If that’s the case, it makes sense for the Warriors to honor San Francisco’s 325,000-plus Filipino residents in the same way they honored the city’s Chinese heritage with their 2014-17 Chinese New Year and 2017-19 City Edition uniforms.

In addition to Golden State’s uniforms, the leak included a sneak peek at Miami’s 2023-24 City Edition jersey. It is black with a red and white “Heat Culture” wordmark across the chest, a phrase that represents the franchise’s sustained success.

There’s also a pair of purple shorts that match the City Edition jerseys the Utah Jazz unveiled prior to last season but earmarked for 2023-24, while the shorts in the top right corner are part of their 1974-75 Classic Edition uniforms that will debut this year as part of their 50th season celebration.
