The collegiate summer level Northwoods League unveiled a new suite of logos, including specific identities for their longstanding baseball program and a brand-new softball program set to launch in 2024. The Northwoods league currently features 24 baseball teams in the upper midwest ranging from Wisconsin to North Dakota.
The suite of logos, created by designer Tony Horning, is an update to the league’s previous logo (above), incorporating a capital letter N, a pine tree, and a series of swooshing design elements. The league logo features a north star followed by a green trail, the baseball-specific logo highlights a baseball with a red trail (a wink and a nod to the old logo), and the softball logo is set in a familiar yellow that evokes the color of softballs used in some leagues.
“These logos are more than just symbols; they represent the heart and soul of the Northwoods League,” said Northwoods League President Ryan Voz in a statement. “Our commitment to excellence and the love for the game is embodied in every aspect of these designs. We believe they capture the essence of our league, and we can’t wait to share them with our fans, players, and communities.”
The Northwoods League will begin its 30th-anniversary baseball season in May 2024.
