Los Angeles Kings to Wear Retros 15 Times, Add Jersey Advertisement

I’ve got some good news, and I’ve got some bad news for fans of the Los Angeles Kings.

Do you want the good news first? Well, of course you do.

The LA Kings have announced they will be bringing back their white Wayne Gretzky-era alternate uniforms for 15 games in 2023-24 — five at home and ten on the road. They’ll be worn seven times on the road before they see the ice in Los Angeles; the home debut will have to wait until December 27th.

Once again, this uniform set will be paired with the metallic silver helmets, which, no, I’m not a fan of, but I know many of you unkempt youngsters out there enjoy it.

Anyway, here’s the full Los Angeles Kings retro uniform schedule for the 23-24 season.

  • October 31, 2023 at Toronto Maple Leafs
  • November 2, 2023 at Ottawa Senators
  • November 4, 2023 at Philadelphia Flyers
  • December 5, 2023 at Columbus Blue Jackets
  • December 7, 2023 at Montreal Canadiens
  • December 9, 2023 at New York Islanders
  • December 10, 2023 at New York Rangers
  • December 27, 2023 vs San Jose Sharks
  • January 2, 2024 vs Toronto Maple Leafs
  • January 22, 2024 vs San Jose Sharks
  • February 24, 2024 vs Anaheim Ducks
  • March 13, 2024 at St. Louis Blues
  • March 15, 2024 at Chicago Blackhawks
  • March 16, 2024 at Dallas Stars
  • April 13, 2024 vs Anaheim Ducks

If you don’t want the bad news, just surf away now. Head on to our Los Angeles Kings logo and uniform history page; you’ll have a great time and sleep well tonight.

For the rest of you…

The Los Angeles Kings will have a jersey advertisement this season.

Sorry.

Thanks to the eagle-eyed folks over at Mayor’s Manor, we’ve learned the Kings will be wearing the logo of Mercury Insurance on the upper right corner of their home black sweaters. The club hasn’t announced this yet, so we don’t quite know the details of this — such as if this will be worn across all three of their uniforms or just their home set.

The Kings took to the ice for a pre-season contest against Anaheim last night, wearing a visible black patch over where the ad will go:

They’re clearly covering something.

So… do you want more bad news?

They’re also expected to wear an advertisement for BlueShield of California on their helmets.

Happy Monday, everyone.
