The Ohio State men’s basketball program will celebrate its 125th season with a commemorative logo, which will be worn as a patch on the Buckeyes’ jerseys during the 2023-24 campaign.

There are actually two different versions of the logo, which both prominently display the No. 125 in white behind a gray ribbon, as well as scarlet accents and a gray basketball at the top.

The full logo features “Men’s Basketball” inside the ribbon, in addition to Ohio State’s athletic logo and the years 1898 and 2023 at the bottom, while the patch has “EST. 1898” on the ribbon and nothing below the numbers.

Similar to the logo the Buckeyes’ football program used to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ohio Stadium in 2022, the shape of the 125th season logo is also reminiscent of the Block “O.”

Ohio State has won 1,766 games since 1898-99, including the 1960-61 national championship. The Buckeyes also have 30 NCAA Tournament and 10 Final Four appearances, along with 20 Big Ten regular season championships and four conference tournament titles.

The patch, which is consistent across Ohio State’s white home and scarlet road uniforms, will make its on-court debut against Oakland on Nov. 6. It’s unclear how or if it will appear on the Buckeyes’ anthracite alternate or 1980s and 1990s throwback sets, however.
