The Denver Broncos will debut a new field design alongside their “snowcapped” white alternate helmets during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets (4:25 p.m. ET on CBS).
Denver will display its throwback logo in its current color scheme at the 50-yard line of Empower Field at Mile High, as well as white end zones with an orange “Broncos” wordmark.
The franchise has used a natural grass background in its end zones since 1999, pairing it with a white wordmark outlined in orange and their primary logo until 2003, when the colors flipped.
That has been Denver’s go-to design ever since, aside from the 2009 season, when the franchise celebrated its 50th anniversary with a white or orange and blue diamond pattern in the end zones.
The white end zones follow the same design as this year’s field, which removed the primary logo and centered the wordmark. This will mark the first time the Broncos use their retro logo at midfield, however.
Denver will wear the “snowcapped” white alternate helmets once more this season on Christmas Eve against the New England Patriots (8:15 p.m. ET on NFL Network). Presumably, this field design will return that evening.
