The Florida Atlantic football program will debut sand-colored alternate uniforms during Saturday’s game against UTSA, which kicks off at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

The Owls, who play just three miles from the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful beaches of Boca Raton, have been promoting that connection all season by wearing palm trees on one side of their blue, red or white helmets.

They’ve opted to pair the blue helmets – which feature a red and white striping pattern down the center, a state outline on the opposite side and a blue facemask – with the sand-colored jerseys, which also have palm tress within the blue sleeve caps.

The palm trees, which were also prominently featured by adidas on Miami’s “Miami Nights” and FIU’s “Miami Vice” alternate uniforms this season, are then carried over to the sides of the sand-colored pants. The look is complete with the Owls’ secondary logo on the right him.

This marks the first time in program history that Florida Atlantic will wear something other than red, blue, white, black or gray uniforms. It’s also the first time that “Owls” will be displayed across the chest, as they’ve previously only used “FAU” or “Florida Atlantic” in that space.
