Although they won’t be officially revealed until Nov. 2, every NBA City Edition jersey for the 2023-24 season was leaked on social media late Sunday evening.
The retail photos, which SportsLogos.net can confirm are legitimate, were all posted recently by @brandon1an on X, formerly known as Twitter. Some match earlier leaks or unveilings, while others have not been seen before. You can see the original thread from @Brandon1an here.
With that, we’ve included front and back photos of every jersey below, including those that have already been released, and have tried our best to decipher the inspiration behind the new designs.

Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks have effectively added a lowercase “ATL” wordmark and light blue accents from their time in St. Louis to their 2019-20 “Peachtree” City Edition uniforms to create this year’s design, which features a recently trademarked phrase above the jock tag.
Boston Celtics
The Celtics’ City Edition uniforms, which were leaked last week and were subsequently confirmed by the team, are seemingly a nod to Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, and feature side panels with a wood floor texture.
Brooklyn Nets
The Nets partnered with local artist Brian Donnelly, known professionally as KAWS, to create their City Edition uniforms, which were unveiled in April. They blend his abstract painting style with a black, white, gray, teal, blue and red color palette.
Charlotte Hornets
For the third time in four years, the Hornets will celebrate Charlotte’s history as the home of the first U.S. Branch Mint and the Carolina Gold Rush with their City Edition uniforms, which are teal with mint and gold accents. The “Buzz City” moniker also returns to their City jerseys after a two-season hiatus.
Chicago Bulls
The Bulls’ black City Edition uniforms were initially leaked in September and feature a vertical “Chicago” wordmark in white, which is reminiscent of the marquee and font used on the facade of Chicago Stadium, their home from 1967-94, also known as “The Madhouse on Madison.”
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers unveiled their City Edition uniforms during a special event for season ticket holders last week. They feature “The Land” across the chest and pattern on the collar, arm holes and shorts that is inspired by the carpet at Connor Palace, also known as The Palace Theatre.
Dallas Mavericks
The Mavericks’ City Edition set also leaked in September and appears to be a nod to singer, songwriter and record producer Leon Bridges, with his signature near the jock tag, a classic soul-style wordmark and sublimated lyrics or a musical staff on the side panels.
Denver Nuggets
The defending NBA champion Nuggets have celebrated Denver’s nickname of the “Mile High City” with the No. 5,280 inside the lanes of their court at Ball Arena since 2018. That number, which represent feet in a mile, now makes its way to the front of their City Edition uniforms.
Detroit Pistons
The Pistons’ City Edition uniforms, which leaked earlier this month, are inspired by the “Detroit Bad Boys” shirts that exploded in popularity as they won back-to-back tiles in 1988-89 and 1989-90. Those shirts prominently displayed a basketball behind a skull and crossbones, which can be seen on the side panels of the jerseys.
Golden State Warriors
While the shorts suggest they’re a nod to the Bay Area’s 325,000-plus Filipino residents, the stripes on the Warriors’ City Edition uniforms are clearly inspired by cable car tracks seen throughout the city, while the curved “San Francisco” wordmark represents the steep hills they have to climb downtown.
Houston Rockets
We initially speculated they could be a nod to the NFL’s Houston Oilers, but a closer look at the Rockets’ City Edition uniforms reveals the signatures of franchise greats Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler above the jock tag and a midnight blue and red color scheme, matching their 1995-2003 uniforms.
Indiana Pacers
The Pacers’ City Edition uniforms leaked back in August and have a spray paint-like design on the side panels of the jerseys, which bleed into a single-color version of their primary logo on the shorts. The “Indy” wordmark and numbers also have a spray paint vibe, though we’re not quite sure why.
Los Angeles Clippers
The inspiration for the Clippers’ City Edition set is unclear, though the wordmark across the chest appears to be based on their 1978-82 logo. Other notable details from this month’s leak include the hand-drawn basketballs in the wordmark and above the jock tag, as well as flowers below it.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers’ City Edition uniforms, which leaked back in August, feature a triangle-shaped wordmark that was used by the franchise after it relocated from Minneapolis in the 1960s, though it’s rendered in their current color scheme of purple, gold and black.
Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies’ City Edition set prominently displays the “MEM” logo that has appeared on the waistbands of their Association and Icon Edition uniforms, as well as trim on their Statement uniforms, since the 2018-19 season. It also carries over the asymmetrical design the franchise has used sporadically since it was located in Vancouver.
Miami Heat
The Heat’s City Edition uniforms, which leaked alongside the Warriors’ set, appears to be a stripped-down version of their black Icon Edition set and features a red and white “Heat Culture” wordmark across the chest, a phrase that represents the franchise’s sustained success.
Milwaukee Bucks
For the second straight season, the Bucks will have a blue City Edition uniform, though this time it appears they will pay homage to the Hoan Bridge with a “Milwaukee” wordmark inside of an arched, cream-colored backdrop. The jerseys are also textured, which could represent the inlet to the Milwaukee River that the bridge spans.
Minnesota Timberwolves
Unveiled in August, the Timberwolves’ City Edition set is an ode to the state’s nickname of “The Land of 10,000 Lakes,” as it features a water texture pattern across the chest and the back of the jersey.
New Orleans Pelicans
The Pelicans’ City Edition uniforms are a significant departure from past designs, as they typically lean into Mardi Gras colors. This time, though, they’ve paired hints of purple with bright green numbers in a Voodoo-like font.
New York Knicks
The Knicks’ City Edition uniforms, which leaked last week, notably feature an offset “New York, New York” wordmark, pinstripes, black side panels reminiscent of their 1997-2001 design and their familiar “NYC” Nike logo on the shoulder.
Oklahoma City Thunder
The Thunder are using various parts of their uniform history as a sublimated design on this year’s City Edition set, which is completely devoid of their primary color (blue) and highlights the orange and yellow accents from their logo against a black background
Orlando Magic
The Magic’s City Edition set takes cues from their original road uniforms, with pinstripes and an “Orlando” wordmark with a star instead of an “A.” However, we can’t help but feel like this is one of those crossover concepts between the NBA and the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
Philadelphia 76ers
The 76ers also unveiled their City Edition set during a special event for season ticket holders, which was held last week at Reading Terminal Market, a historic farmer’s market that serves as the inspiration for the uniforms. The font and the arrows on the right side of the jerseys are pulled directly from the neon sign outside of the market.
Phoenix Suns
The Suns’ City Edition set, which leaked in September, features “El Valle” – the Spanish translation for “The Valley” – across the chest and an airbrushed design down the sides, which is reminiscent of the pinstripes on a lowrider, a customized car rooted in Mexican-American culture.
Portland Trail Blazers
The Trail Blazers will once again honor Hall of Fame head coach Dr. Jack Ramsay, who notably wore plaid jackets while leading the franchise to the 1976-77 NBA title, with plaid-accented City Edition uniforms. Their 2017-18 and 2021-22 City sets also had plaid accents.
Sacramento Kings
The Kings unveiled their City Edition uniforms as part of their 100th anniversary celebration this past weekend. The blue jerseys feature a vertical team name and striping pattern, pulling inspiration from their time as the Cincinnati Royals, as they wore a similar design on the road from 1968-71.
San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs will celebrate the 55th anniversary of HemisFair ’68 (also known as the 1968 World’s Fair or International Exposition) with their City Edition set, which includes a throwback color scheme of seafoam, orange, peach and brown.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors’ gold City Edition uniforms were leaked during Media Day by guard Dennis Schröder. They feature an arched “Toronto” wordmark across the chest, mimicking the Raptors’ 2015-20 design, as well as jagged pinstripes that are a callback to their 1995-99 uniforms.
Utah Jazz
The Jazz quietly unveiled this year’s City Edition uniforms alongside their current Association, Icon, Statement and Classic Edition sets last summer. The purple uniforms are inspired by their 1996-2004 mountain design, albeit with fewer colors.
Washington Wizards
Lastly, we initially speculated the Wizards’ City Edition uniforms were a nod to their original color scheme of blue and bronze, but it actually appears to be copper and green instead, which leads us to believe they’re inspired by statues around the city that have oxidized over time.
