The Maine Celtics, the G League affiliate of the NBA’s Boston Celtics, recently announced they’ll wear a band on their jerseys this season to honor the victims of last month’s mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine.

Eighteen people were killed and 13 were wounded in a shooting at a bowling alley and a bar in Lewiston on Oct. 25, while the suspect was found dead two days later from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The band, which is blue to match the color of the local high school, features the city’s name. It will be worn on the left shoulder of the Celtics’ jerseys for the remainder of the season.

Similarly, Boston wore “Maine” warmups and a black band above the Vistaprint patch on the left shoulder of their jerseys during their home opener against the Miami Heat on Oct. 27.
