ECHL’s Savannah Ghost Pirates Go Golden to Honor NHL Parent Club

The ECHL’s Savannah Ghost Pirates are going golden to honor their NHL parent club’s recent Stanley Cup championship.

For one night only on Thursday, November 16, the Ghost Pirates will become the Savannah Golden Ghosts, swapping out the neon green in their usual jerseys for the metallic gold of their affiliate, the Vegas Golden Knights, to commemorate their 2023 Stanley Cup victory.

UPDATE (November 15, 2023): The Ghost Pirates announced earlier today that they are extending Golden Ghost Night through the weekend. They’ll wear the Golden Ghost jerseys in all three of their games this weekend:

  • Thursday, November 16 vs. the Greenville Swamp Rabbits
  • Friday, November 17 vs. the South Carolina Stingrays
  • Saturday, November 18 vs. the Orlando Solar Bears

The evening’s festivities include special jerseys that were unveiled on the Ghost Pirates’ social media channels on Tuesday, November 14. The black version will be worn in warmups and swaps out gold for the neon green normally found in the striping on the Ghost Pirates’ usual black jerseys.

The gold version, which will be worn during Thursday’s game, also swaps gold for neon green but on a larger scale, as it makes up the base of this version of the jersey.

The front of both jerseys features a special logo, with the Ghost Pirates’ usual ghost mascot turned gold and wearing a gold knight’s helmet. His neon green eyes still peer out from under the helmet.

The auction for game-worn Golden Ghosts jerseys is underway on Dash, though the team didn’t specify which charity, if any, would receive the proceeds.
