Paris Saint-Germain Plays With Names on Jerseys in Korean

French Ligue 1 powerhouses Paris Saint-Germain embraced their newfound popularity in South Korea over the weekend.

The club played their match against Le Havre AC on Sunday, December 3, with the names on the backs of their white away kits in Korean. According to Footy Headlines, the move was a nod to midfielder Lee Kang-in, who joined from Spanish side RCD Mallorca over the summer and whose jersey has become one of PSG’s bestsellers thanks to a huge following in his home country.

PSG also made jerseys with players’ Korean surnames available for purchase on their website. The Korean characters are blue with a red outline, which matches PSG’s usual surname printing on their white away kits.

The kits with the Korean surnames worked out well for PSG, as they beat Le Havre 2-0 to remain on top of the Ligue 1 table.
