The New Orleans Saints will wear their Color Rush uniforms with their standard gold helmets during tonight’s game at the Los Angeles Rams, which kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime.
The uniforms, which were introduced in 2016, feature a traditional striping pattern on the sleeves and old gold numbers, similar to what the Saints wore on the road for their first two seasons as a franchise.
The uniforms also include white pants with black and old gold stripes down the sides. Those were added as part of the Color Rush promotion, which was intended to give teams a monochromatic look.
New Orleans went 8-6 in this combination through 2021 but began wearing the uniforms with black helmets the following season after the NFL rescinded its one-helmet rule.
The Saints are 0-3 in their black helmets since they were introduced, including a 24-15 loss to the Atlanta Falcons last month, so perhaps this is an attempt to get back on track in their Color Rush set.
The Rams, meanwhile, will counter with their usual home uniforms of royal blue helmets with sol (yellow) horns, royal blue jerseys and sol pants. They are 2-1 in that combination this season.
