Premier League side AFC Bournemouth is about to add a bit of Hollywood to their closet, according to reports.
The Athletic reported on Friday that Bournemouth owner Bill Foley said in an interview with CBS Sports that actor Michael B. Jordan — best known for the “Creed” and “Black Panther” movie franchises — has assisted in designing a kit for the club that “will go on sale shortly.”
It’s unclear from Foley’s comments if or when Bournemouth will wear the Jordan-designed kit on the field. The club has already unveiled three kits for 2023-24, so the new kit could be a fourth option for this season, an option for 2024-25, or strictly a fashion jersey.
“Mike is a great guy.
“He’s a very down to Earth, common individual. He hasn’t got stars in his eyes. He loves football.
“He is really helping us in terms of some our international marketing and marketing in the US. He’s designing a kit that will go on sale shortly.
“He’s engaged and we love having him. I believe he’s going to be in Bournemouth today and tomorrow to watch practice. He’s all in and it’s good to have him — he’s a terrific guy.”

Black Knight Football and Entertainment, headed by Foley, completed a takeover of AFC Bournemouth in 2022, and also owns a stake in French Ligue 1 club FC Lorient. During the takeover of Bournemouth, Foley invited minority investors into the new ownership structure, and Jordan was one of those who took him up on the offer. This was Jordan’s first venture into owning a professional sports team.
Foley is also the lead investor, chairman and CEO of Black Knight Sports and Entertainment, the consortium that owns the National Hockey League’s Vegas Golden Knights.
AFC Bournemouth’s kits are currently manufactured by Umbro. The two sides have been working together since 2017, and in 2021, Umbro signed a new five-year deal to continue as Bournemouth’s technical sponsor.
Bournemouth faces EFL Championship side Queens Park Rangers in an FA Cup third-round match this Saturday. Their next Premier League game is against Liverpool on Sunday, January 21.
