The ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones are pressing a popular warm-up jersey into game action this weekend for a good cause.
The Cyclones are hosting their annual Teddy Bear Toss game on Saturday, January 6. For the occasion, the Cyclones are promoting a throwback jersey that they’ve been wearing in pregame warmups all season long and wearing it in the game against the Toledo Walleye.
The jersey is red with “CINCY” spelled out diagonally in black letters with white outlines across the front. Broad black stripes run around the sleeves and waist, with two narrower grey stripes inside.
The cuffs and collar are solid black, with white laces through the collar. A red-and-black version of the Cyclones’ primary logo appears on each shoulder.
Numbers on the sleeves and back are black with white outlines, while the names on the back are one-color black.
The throwback jerseys have proven popular with Cyclones fans, with one of the team’s social media posts saying they “might be our most popular jersey design yet!” The Cyclones also sell hoodies and sweatshirts with the throwback design in their online shop.
The Cyclones’ regular home and away jerseys are … um, shall we say … busier than the throwback design. They also have a black alternate with red logos and white outlines around the red names and numbers.
Puck drop between the Cyclones and the Walleye is at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati. Stuffed animals tossed on the ice after the Cyclones’ first goal will be donated to the Cincinnati Police Department, Cincinnati Fire Department and Matthew 25 Ministries.
