Bowling Green Hot Rods to play as Cavemen

The ground beneath Bowling Green, Kentucky, features a sprawling network of caves. Less than 40 miles away lies Mammoth Cave National Park, which encompasses a portion of the largest known cave system in the world, with more than 426 miles of surveyed passageways.

As a tribute to this totally tubular feature of their home state, the High-A Bowling Green Hot Rods, whose ballpark is built upon cavernous ground, unveiled an alternate brand that they’ll wear for select games this season: The Bowling Green Cavemen.

The suite of logos, created by Brandon Lamarche of 32 Designs, features the most famous residents of caves this side of blind shrimp. The blue-skinned character, his blue hair pulled back by a bone, is swinging a bat meant to evoke clubs that a caveman might swing at its prey while hunting.

Another logo features the cave character peering out of a cave formed by the letter C.

The Cavemen will take the field for the first time April 5, 2024.
