The Double-A Wichita Wind Surge will pay tribute to a time-honored midwestern culinary tradition when they play as the Chili Buns for two games this season.
The logo features the confection itself, a cinnamon roll nestled in a bowl of chili—not to be confused with another style of chili buns, a southern dish featuring hot dog buns or a hollowed bread bowl with chili inside. The team will wear red jerseys with Wichita Chili Buns written across the chest, along with cream-colored caps with red brims.
The Chili Buns will play April 19 and 20. Fans at the games will find the delicacy not only on uniforms and caps worn by the team, but at Riverfront Stadium’s concession stands.
