Fresh off their record-extending 15th UEFA Champions League title, Spanish La Liga powerhouses Real Madrid are keeping things simple with their new home kits for 2024-25.
Real Madrid unveiled the kits, manufactured by Adidas, on their website and social media channels on Wednesday, June 5. As ever, the kits are predominantly white, though this year’s edition features a subtle houndstooth pattern on the front, back and sleeves.
The shapes that make up the houndstooth pattern are styled to look like little Rs and Ms, repeating the club’s initials all over the shirt.
The Adidas shoulder stripes, trim on the collar and sponsor logos are all black. Accents on the new Adidas template, like the swoops that run from the back of the shorts and up the sides of the jersey, are white to blend in with the rest of the shirt. The socks are also white with black trim.
Along with the kits, Real Madrid also introduced a new name and number font for cup competitions.
Real Madrid also introduced a new goalkeeper kit on Wednesday. It follows the same template that MLS clubs are using this season, along other high-profile European clubs that have already unveiled kits this summer. Madrid has opted for a light blue base, though, with pink geometric shapes and purple lines all across the front.
Real Madrid begin a preseason tour in the United States on Wednesday, July 31, with a match against Italy’s AC Milan at Soldier Field in Chicago. They’ll then face bitter La Liga rivals FC Barcelona at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday, August 3, before squaring off with Premier League side Chelsea on Tuesday, August 6, at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
They’ll also play UEFA Europa League winners Atalanta BC of Italy on Saturday, August 14, before their 2024-25 La Liga season begins.
