The Golden State Warriors unveiled their 2024-25 Statement Edition uniforms on Wednesday afternoon, as well as their new secondary logo, which is prominently displayed on the shorts.
“We have the ability to redesign our Statement Edition uniform every three years, and we wanted to take full advantage of this unique opportunity,” senior Vice President of marketing Amanda Chin said.
“Aligning the launch of our new secondary logo with our 2024-25 Statement Edition uniform allowed us to highlight a new part of our core identify in a bold and exciting way.”
The black uniforms feature an arched “Golden State” wordmark above and below gold numbers, as well as a blue “sloping cable” that spans the jersey and shorts as a representation of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
There are also textural elements below the blue piping that mimic the inner wires of the cables that support the bridge, which is a key component of the Warriors’ primary logo and the partial mark that appears on the waistband.
Meanwhile, the new secondary logo – which was created by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners Design – is a stylized “W” that doubles as a basketball net and rim and can be seen on the right leg of the shorts.
“The new logo represents the team’s renowned style of play by combining a ‘W’ for Warriors with a net symbolizing three-point shooting,” GS&P Design’s Benny Gold said. “The slight arch in the ‘W’ (gives) the impression of a ball dropping through the net.”
In addition to the Statement Edition uniforms, which are complete with a gray collar and blue and gold trim, the new secondary logo will be visible on the waistband of the Warriors’ Association (white) and Icon (blue) Edition uniforms.
It replaces an encircled “W” that was introduced in 2019-20 alongside an updated primary logo, which featured a custom font, a more accurate depiction of the Bay Bridge and coincided with Golden State’s move to Chase Center.
This marks the first of three new uniforms for the Warriors this season, as they will also unveil new City and Classic Edition uniforms at a later date. It replaces the blue Statement set unveiled in 2022-23 that also pulled visual cues from the bridge.
