Argentina’s men’s national soccer team have had some great moments in recent years wearing Adidas kits. And both sides are hoping for more with the extension of their partnership.
The Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA) announced on Tuesday, June 25, that they had extended their kit deal with the German sportswear company until 2038, ensuring the Albiceleste will wear the 3 Stripes for the next four FIFA World Cups.
“We are delighted to forge a new partnership with Adidas until 2038. Our partnership spans several decades and this new long-term commitment allows us, as an organization, to drive the success of our teams and invest in our communities,” said AFA president Claudio Tapia (translated to English by Google). “We are proud of the recent successes we have shared, but we will continue to focus on the growth of our game and performance on the court … in this sense, and in many more, Adidas is the perfect partner for us.”
“The AFA, the reigning FIFA Men’s World Cup Champion, is one of the most successful federations in history,” added Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden. “We have celebrated many successes together and are very proud to announce that “We will continue our collaboration, at least, until 2038. It is a perfect alliance!”
Argentina’s national teams have been outfitted by Adidas since 1989, save for a two-year stretch in 1999 and 2000 when they were with Reebok. Since rejoining Adidas in 2001, Argentina’s men’s team won the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the 2022 Finalissima and the 2021 Copa América. Their women’s team also made their first FIFA Women’s World Cup appearance in 2023.
