After unveiling a refreshed set of logos earlier this summer, the ECHL’s Indy Fuel have launched new jerseys to go along with them.
The Fuel posted photos of the new sweaters on their social media channels on Thursday, September 19. After wearing the same template as their NHL parent club, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Fuel are moving to a totally new design for the 2024-25 ECHL season.
The base of the dark jersey is red, with the Fuel’s new primary logo on the front and the logos of the Blackhawks and their AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, on the shoulders. A broad black stripe runs around each sleeve, with yellow and white stripes inside. The same stripe runs around the waist, but the bottom black area extends down to the hem. The collar is red with black trim.
Meanwhile, the white jersey follows much the same pattern as the red jersey, except the bottom half of the sleeves, below the stripes, is black. The wider stripes around the sleeves and waist are red, while the narrower stripes are yellow. The trim around the collar is red.
None of the photos posted by the Fuel on Thursday showed what names and numbers on the jersey would look like, nor did they show any of the other equipment that would be paired with the jerseys.
ECHL teams wear white jerseys at home and dark jerseys on the road until the All-Star Game break in January, at which point they switch to dark at home at white on the road. During the playoffs, they switch back to white at home and dark on the road.
The new jerseys and logos coincide with the Fuel’s move to the new Fishers Event Center for the 2024-25. They previously played their home games at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum on the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
The Fuel begin their 2024-25 ECHL regular season on Friday, October 18, with a visit to the Savannah Ghost Pirates. They’ll play their first 15 games on the road while construction wraps up on the Fishers Event Center. The Fuel will finally play their first game in their new rink on Friday, December 6, against the Iowa Heartlanders.
