Spanish La Liga powerhouses FC Barcelona are shooting for the moon with the latest band to feature on the front of their jerseys for their upcoming El Clásico match.
The club announced on Thursday, October 17, that the logo for British band Coldplay’s latest album, Moon Music, will appear on the front of the men’s team’s jerseys for their match against bitter rivals Real Madrid on Saturday, October 26. The Barça women’s team will also wear the jerseys in a Liga F match against Eibar one week later.
Music logos have appeared on the front of Barça’s kits for El Clásico matches since 2022 as part of their sponsorship deal with streaming service Spotify. Other artists to featured on kits include Drake, Rosalía, the Rolling Stones and Karol G.
Coldplay, the club notes in its announcement, is the most-streamed British band on Spotify, with 11 songs surpassing one billion streams each. Coldplay songs are included in more than 100 million user-generated Spotify playlists worldwide.
Moon Music is Coldplay’s 10th studio album and was released on October 4, 2024. It debuted at number one on charts in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain and Sweden, and it topped the UK Albums Chart (their 10th album to do so) and the Billboard 200 in the United States (their fifth album to do so).
Like FC Barcelona, Coldplay brings together fans from across the world. This moment celebrates the unity of humanity and the joy felt in shared experiences – whether that be a football match or music concert. As an example of how the band unites people from across the world, the Moon Music logo that will feature on the FC Barcelona shirt was inspired by a design from a Coldplay fan.

Like past artist collaborations, two limited editions of the shirt with the Coldplay logo will be available for fans to purchase, including a run of 1,899 match quality shirts. Another set of just 22 jerseys will feature a fluorescent effect on the logo, and each will be signed by one of the starting players from both the men’s and women’s matches in which they’re worn.
Barça will also release a lifestyle clothing line through its online store on Friday, October 18, that includes T-shirts, hoodies and scarves that combine the Moon Music imagery with club and Spotify logos.
The proceeds from the jerseys and the lifestyle clothing line will be donated to a joint project of the United Nations Refugee Agency and the FC Barcelona Foundation.
