With a little more than three weeks until the 2025 NBA Draft, Dick’s Sporting Goods has leaked the hat designs for 22 of the 30 teams, including the Dallas Mavericks, who are widely expected to select former Duke forward Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick.
The white caps prominently display each team’s nickname in a script font beneath their location, as well as their primary or secondary logo on the right side. The wordmark is written in a singular team coloir, while the brim and squatchee are (for the most part) a different team colour.
The hats are complete with the New Era flag on the left side and the NBA logo on the back. Overall, the design brings to mind the 1994 draft caps, which featured a thicker team script beneath the location and contrasting brims and eyelets.
The missing teams include the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Orlando Magic, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors. The Magic, of course, are set for a uniform and logo redesign this summer.
There are also team colour versions of the hats, with a white wordmark across the front of the crown, which matches the brim and squatchee. For example, the Hawks’ hat is completely red, the Celtics’ hat is entirely green, the Nets’ hat is fully black and so on.
The 2025 NBA Draft will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 25-26, marking the third straight year the draft will take place over two nights. It will consist of just 59 selections, as the New York Knicks lost a second-round pick due to a free agency violation.
