Get out the eyeliner and the studded belts, because the Hartford Wolf Pack are ready to prove emo was never just a phase for them.
On Monday, February 17, the American Hockey League team unveiled the jerseys they’d be wearing when they write sins, not tragedies, on Emo Night against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday, February 21.
Naturally, the jersey is predominantly black, with the wolf’s head from Hartford’s primary logo in white inside a guitar pick. “HARTFORD WOLF PACK” is scrawled out in white under the wolf’s head.

The sleeves and waist have two dark grey stripes, with a pattern of words scrawled in the same font as the one found on the chest in between. The words include variations on the team name along with “HFD” and “RUN TOGETHER,” and appear in various shades of grey and white. The same pattern is found in panels that run under each arm.

The left shoulder patch is a white cartoon skull, while the right shoulder patch is a white heart with a black X and a paint splatter.

Even the Wolf Pack’s mascot, Sonar the Wolf, got in on the fun by wearing the Emo Night jersey to a local tattoo parlor. He does, however, look a little too happy to be truly emo.

The Wolf Pack took pre-orders from fans who wanted to purchase Emo Night jerseys, which sold out quickly. Those who missed out can still order a T-shirt from the team’s online shop.

The Wolf Pack aren’t the first AHL team to host an Emo Night this season, though. The Cleveland Monsters held their own on Friday, December 6, and even released jerseys for the occasion, but players didn’t wear them in the game against the Syracuse Crunch.

Puck drop on Friday between Hartford and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is at 7 p.m. ET.
