For the first time since they took on the nickname Jumbo Shrimp in 2017, the Triple-A baseball team in Jacksonville, Florida, announced that they will take to the field wearing an alternate identity. The team will play as the Honey Drippers with a brand created by Brandiose for two weekends in 2025, an homage to a popular frozen treat that has its roots in Jacksonville’s Eastside neighborhood.
Not to be confused with Italian ice, water ice, or Sno-Ball, honey drippers are made of frozen juice (or juice-like substances) and fruit, and are widely popular throughout the South—though sometimes they’re known by other names, such as frozen cups, lilly dilly, or cherry berry, depending on the specific location. In Jacksonville, the treat is known only as honey dripper.

“The Honey Dripper has been an outstanding way to bring Jacksonville’s community together for many years,” said Jumbo Shrimp executive vice president/general manager Harold Craw. “We are so excited for the Honey Dripper and Jumbo Shrimp traditions to join together while honoring the historic OutEast neighborhood for a weekend of affordable family fun.”
The Jumbo Shrimp, an affiliate of the Miami Marlins in the International League, will wear specialized Honey Drippers hats and jerseys that evoke the bright and deliciously artificial colors associated with honey drippers for four games May 24–25 and August 30–31.
