The Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens will swap one bird for another when they play select games as the Mud Crawlers this season. The temporary brand, created by Brandiose, features a rubber duck driving a Jeep through mud—an homage to the fact that the first civilian Jeeps were manufactured at the Toledo Assembly Complex in the 1940s.

The rubber duck in the logo is reference to a quirky “Jeep Ducking” custom that Jeep owners share, in which they leave rubber ducks on strangers’ Jeeps as a random act of kindness. The duck is flashing a three-fingered wave, a traditional greeting among Jeep owners on the road.

The Mud Hens, an affiliate of the Detroit Tigers in the International League, will wear the Mud Crawlers brand for six games this season, June 12 and 26, July 31, and August 1, 2, and 14, including during Toledo Jeep Fest Weekend August 1-3.
