The Los Angeles Lakers were scheduled to wear their City Edition uniforms 18 times this season, but after a 1-9 start in the design, they have officially scrapped them for the remainder of the season.
The Lakers initially changed their uniform schedule ahead of their Feb. 1 game against the New York Knicks, opting to wear their purple Statement Edition uniforms instead of the City Edition set in a 128-112 win at Madison Square Garden.
That victory prompted them to do the same for their 120-112 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Feb. 6, as they also ditched their matching alternate court in favor of their standard home design.
Los Angeles was also scheduled to wear their City Edition uniforms against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Feb. 27, Knicks on March 6, Indiana Pacers on March 26, Houston Rockets on March 31, Warriors on April 3 and Dallas Mavericks on April 9.

However, an update to NBA LockerVision, the website that tracks and previews every league uniform matchup, shows the franchise will now wear its gold Icon Edition uniforms against the Timberwolves, Knicks and Warriors and purple Statement Edition set against the Pacers, Rockets and Mavericks.
By comparison, the Lakers are 34-12 in their other uniform options, including 13-6 in their gold Icon Edition design, 10-4 in their purple Statement Edition set and 11-2 in their white Association Edition uniforms.
This marks the second consecutive year in which a team has modified their uniform schedule midway through the season, as the Utah Jazz also scrapped their highlighter yellow Icon Edition uniforms midway through the 2023-24 campaign.
They also debuted new Statement Edition uniforms last month as part of their two-season transition to an entirely new uniform design, leaving their white Association Edition set as the only remaining piece of their 2022-23 rebrand.
