The ECHL’s Savannah Ghost Pirates are getting into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day a little early with special edition jerseys they’ll wear next week.
The Ghost Pirates unveiled the jerseys on their website and social media channels on Friday, February 28. They’ll wear them for home games at Enmarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia, against the South Carolina Stingrays on Wednesday, March 5, and against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits on Friday, March 7.
Fittingly for St. Patrick’s Day, the base of the jersey is green, and broad white stripes with silver outlines run around the chest and sleeves. On the chest is a depiction of the Fountain at Forsyth Park in Savannah, the water in which is dyed green every March 17.

The jersey’s collar is solid green, and the shoulders are white. A special St. Patrick’s Day logo sits on each shoulder with the ghost pirate from the team’s primary logo atop a shamrock.

Numbers on the back and sleeves are set in a Celtic-inspired font. The sleeve numbers are one-colour white, while those on the back are green with a white outline.
A collection of other St. Patrick’s Day-themed team merchandise is available on the Ghost Pirates’ online shop.
While the Ghost Pirates are on the road taking on the Florida Everblades, Jacksonville Icemen, and Orlando Solar Bears the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day, they’ll be back in their home city for the actual holiday to take part in Savannah’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade was first held more than 200 years ago and is today one of the largest such events in the United States.
