The Houston Astros’ Single-A affiliate, the Carolina League’s Fayetteville Woodpeckers, unveiled new road jerseys that pay tribute to the team’s namesake and home state. The new look is centered around a block typeface, which per the team “represents Fayetteville’s tough and proud characteristics.”

The new cap features the bold, slightly serifed letter F with peck marks in the top right corner. The telltale woodpecker beak marks are a carry-over from the team’s primary logo, where they are found on a baseball bat and on other design elements.

The new road uniform includes the North Carolina state flag as a sleeve patch on the right shoulder.

The Woodpeckers brand is based on red-cockaded woodpeckers, a species of endangered bird, as well as nearby Fort Bragg (until very recently Fort Liberty), a U.S. Army installation that comprises more than 250 square miles in central North Carolina.
The Woodpeckers’ new uniforms will debut during their first road game in 2025, which will take place April 8 against the Delmarva Shorebirds.
