UConn Huskies Women’s Basketball Unveils New Uniforms For NCAA Tournament

The UConn Huskies women’s basketball program unveiled new uniforms this week before its first round NCAA Tournament matchup with 15th-seeded Arkansas State, which tips off at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday.

The white home and navy blue road uniforms feature the Huskies’ familiar “UConn” wordmark across the chest, highlighted by a red “U” and a classic striping pattern on the collar and arm holes.

The asymmetrical shorts, meanwhile, include a thick contrasting stripe on the left leg beneath a “Huskies” wordmark, seemingly a nod to the 1994-95 team, which captured the first national championship in program history.

Interestingly, those Huskies also unveiled new uniforms prior to the Final Four, when they knocked off Stanford and Tennessee in Minneapolis, becoming the first unbeaten team in men’s or women’s history to win 35 games in a season.

As the No. 2 seed in the Spokane 4 Regional, UConn will wear the white home version through at least the Sweet 16, assuming the Huskies advance that far. The navy blue version could potentially debut in the Elite 8 against top-seeded USC.
