MLS Launches Greener Goals Week With New One Planet Pre-Match Jerseys

Major League Soccer is once again putting its commitment to the environment on the pitch with the latest iteration of their One Planet pre-match jerseys.

As part of the kickoff to their annual Greener Goals Week of Service, MLS launched the 2025 version of their “One Planet” kits in collaboration with Adidas. The kits will be worn by every MLS club prior to matches over the coming weeks in celebration of Earth Day and the league’s commitment to taking steps to address its environmental impact.

This year’s One Planet kits are once again made using recycled materials and come in two colours: light green and tan. Both colours feature a tree ring pattern woven into the fabric to “convey the passage of time and illustrate the profound impact of climate change through the years.”

The kit celebrates taking a step towards carbon neutrality while raising awareness of climate transformation and the need to change human behavior. Frontprints symbolize the vital connection to embracing a more conscious way of life.

Darker panels run under each arm and taper down each side. Darker piping runs from the collar down the sides and around the sleeve cuffs. Collar details and Adidas shoulder stripes are also tonally darker than the rest of the shirt.

Club crests and the Adidas logo on the chest are also tonally darker. Clubs that have training jersey sponsors have those sponsor logos on the chest.

Prior to 2024, MLS clubs had worn kits made of recycled materials promoting environmental awareness in actual matches, but those drew criticism for a lack of contrast between kit options.
