England Lionesses Ready to Roar at Women’s Euro 2025 in New Nike Kits

England’s Lionesses are ready to roar at this summer’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 tournament in new home and away kits unveiled this week.

The English national soccer team and defending European champions launched the kits, manufactured by Nike, on Wednesday, May 13. Both designs are bespoke to the women’s team, and “each kit pays tribute to England teams and their victories of the past,” according to England Football.

The home kit has a white base, raglan sleeves and a royal blue crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs. At the top of the front of the shirt, royal blue fades to red and then to white, with the Three Lions crest and the Nike swoosh in the red area. It’s a look that evokes kits worn by the English national team in the early 1980s.

Derived from the concept of ‘deeds, not words’, the home kit is a homage to the Lionesses and their heroic national victories such as EURO 2022, as well as the future generations of women players who are taking the game to new heights. The kit uses shifts in colour to honour the pioneers of the national team playing through the ‘70s and ‘80s.

None of the photos accompanying Wednesday’s announcement showed names or number styles for either the front or the back of the jerseys.

The away kit, meanwhile, has a black base with a bright blue Three Lions crest and Nike swoosh on the chest. The side panels has flashes of colour that fade into one another, including royal blue, red, pink and black.

Our new 2025 away kit is styled to challenge familiar design palettes with a bold, modern black look, highlighting other distinctive features like the blue numbers and crest along with flashes of colour on the side.

The inspiration for the away kit pulls from the fearless optimism and leadership of the current and past Lionesses, with a nod to modern design.

In designing the kits, England Football says Nike used “overlapping maps with rich data specific to women athletes to guide the placement of mesh and ribbed textures throughout the uniforms — delivering specific performance attributes, such as enhanced stretch or compression, exactly where it’s needed most. This approach led to a new side panel, for example, enabling increased stretch, breathability and movement throughout the athlete’s core.”

England Football also unveiled a green goalkeeper kit on Wednesday, with the crest and swoosh in the center of the chest and vertical pinstripes of varying tones and widths moving out from the center. It’s difficult to get a full look at the goalkeeper kit, though, as all the goalkeepers modelling the kit in the announcement photos were wearing jackets over it.

The new England women’s kits are made with at least 80% recycled material and 100% recycled polyester from plastic bottles. All the Nike swooshes and trim on the uniforms are made from Nike Grind, a material composed of “pre-consumer manufacturing scraps, recycled post-consumer shoes and unsellable footwear.”

The kits — which will be available for supporters to purchase starting Thursday, May 29 — will also be worn this summer by the Para Lionesses in the Deaf Futsal Championships in Italy and the women’s under-19 national team in the UEFA WU19 Euro Finals.

Women’s Euro 2025 will be hosted by Switzerland and kicks off on Wednesday, July 2. England’s first match in Group D is against France on Saturday, July 5, in Zurich. Other Group D teams include Wales and the Netherlands.
