After a quarter-century using Nike balls in matches, England’s Premier League has made a major shift to a new match ball supplier.
The Premier League unveiled its new Puma Orbital Ultimate PL match ball on Tuesday, June 3, signalling the end of the league’s 25-year match ball partnership with Nike. The Puma balls will be first used this July in the Premier League Summer Series in the USA.

The PUMA Orbita Ultimate PL features 12 evenly sized panels that ensure precise weight distribution, keeping the ball perfectly balanced. Its high-frequency moulding guarantees long-lasting durability with enlarged and deeper seams to improve aerodynamics and shape retention.

The ball has a white base, with purple, magenta and navy blue markings along the seams and in the middle of the panels. Navy blue Premier League and Puma logo appear on two of the panels.
Different versions of the ball are available to purchase on the Premier League’s web store. Prices range from $22 Cdn for a mini ball to $204.50 Cdn for the FIFA Quality Pro version.

Gamers can also get their virtual hands on the new ball, as it will appear digitally in EA Sports FC 25 starting on Sunday, June 15.
Nike had supplied game balls to the Premier League since 2000.
Puma also supplies match balls for Spain’s La Liga and Serie A in Italy, while France’s Ligue 1 match balls are made by Kipsta. The German Bundesliga uses balls made by Derbystar — which also supplies the Canadian Premier League — but will switch in 2026-27 to Adidas, who also supply Major League Soccer and the UEFA Champions League.
The Premier League Summer Series kicks off on Saturday, July 26, with two matches at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey: Everton vs. AFC Bournemouth and Manchester United vs. West Ham United. Other games between the four clubs are scheduled for Soldier Field in Chicago and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
