San Antonio Spurs Partner With Digital Security Company For New Jersey Advertisement Patch

After playing last season without an advertisement on their jerseys, the San Antonio Spurs recently announced a multi-year partnership with Ledger, a Paris-based digital security company that protects more than 20 percent of the world’s cryptocurrency.

“This moment cements a decades-long history of international collaboration and growth led by the Spurs organization, as the game of basketball has grown to touch every culture and continent,” Spurs Sports and Entertainment CEO R.C. Buford said.

“Ledger has led the way in the digital asset space, having helped to build the industry from the ground up. With this international collaboration, we are producing to stand alongside them as we connect the next generation of fans and leaders around the world.”

The partnership strengthens the Spurs’ ties to France, where they’ve gained an enormous following this century after drafting former guard Tony Parker in 2001 and current center Victor Wembanyama in 2023. They also played two games in Paris last season.

“Aligning ourselves with a historic U.S. sports team, which boasts a deep French connection – past and present – will help us onboard the next generation of sovereign individuals,” Ledger chairman and CEO Pascal Gauthier said.

The Spurs will debut their new Ledger-branded jerseys at the California Classic Summer League games at Chase Center in San Francisco on July 5, 6 and 8, with games scheduled against the host Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.

San Antonio’s previous jersey patch partnerships included Frost Bank from 2018-22 and Self Financial from 2022-24, both of which – like Ledger – also placed an advertisement on the jerseys of the Spurs’ G League affiliate, the Austin Spurs.
