Sources: Tampa Bay Buccaneers To Unveil White Road Version Of Creamsicle Throwback Uniforms

According to multiple sources, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to unveil a white road version of their creamsicle throwback uniforms on July 15 as part of their 50th season celebration.

The jerseys, which were inadvertently leaked in February by the designer of the Buccaneers’ 50th season logo, feature fluorescent orange numbers outlined in red, matching what the team wore during its inaugural season in 1976.

They’ll be paired with the same white helmet and pants that Tampa Bay wears with the home version of its creamsicle throwback uniforms, replicating what the Buccaneers wore in every regular season game that season, as the creamsicle jerseys were limited to the preseason.

The jerseys will prominently display a throwback-inspired version of Tampa Bay’s 50th season patch on the left shoulder, with the No. 50 and background color matching the jersey, just like their home red, white road and creamsicle throwback designs.

The Buccaneers have already announced they’ll wear the home version, which includes a fluorescent orange jersey with red and white trim, during their Thursday Night Football matchup with the Atlanta Falcons on Dec. 11.

It’s not yet clear when they’ll wear the road version, though their Sept. 21 home opener against the New York Jets is the official celebration of their 50th season. They also travel to Seattle on Oct. 5 to play the Seahawks, who are also celebrating their 50th season this year.

Seattle will likely wear its 1990s-era throwback uniforms in that game, which would not quite recreate but closely resemble their Oct. 17, 1976, matchup, which saw the Seahawks capture the first victory in franchise history over the winless Buccaneers.
