MLB’s 2025 Independence Day Caps Take the Field This Weekend

Major League Baseball players, managers, and coaches will wear the league’s annual Stars and Stripes-themed caps all this weekend as part of the 2025 Independence Day celebrations.

The 2025 edition of MLB’s Fourth of July caps, which were first released to retail in early June, will be worn across the league from Friday, July 4th, through Sunday, July 6th. They feature a two-tone design built around a light blue crown and a thick white rope running between the crown and the visor. Each of the 30 team logos features a stylized interpretation of the American flag, with stars in the upper-left corner and red-and-white stripes filling the rest, outlined in royal blue.

Teams are divided between either royal blue or red visors, with no clear league-based pattern. The colour of the brim also determines the colour of the top button and the New Era logo on the side. Regardless of colour, the rope always contrasts: red visor caps have blue flecks in the rope, and blue visor caps have red.

On the back, the familiar MLB silhouette logo is coloured similarly to the U.S. flag, with a royal blue batter and outline, a white left field, and a red right field. Each cap includes a grey underbrim.

Canada’s lone MLB team, the Toronto Blue Jays, will wear a cap of their own today; their version uses a red visor, crown, and details throughout, including red flecks in the rope and a red New Era logo. The Blue Jays’ logo appears in red and white with no flag pattern or outline, and the MLB silhouette on the back also switches to an all-red-and-white colour scheme.
