Jacksonville Jaguars To Wear “Prowler” Throwback Uniforms Four Times In 2025

Following executive vice president of football operations Tony Boselli’s offseason promise to wear them “as much as (they) can,” the Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Wednesday they’ll wear their “Prowler” throwback uniforms four times in 2025.

That includes divisional matchups with the Houston Texans on Sept. 21, Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 7 and Tennessee Titans on January 3 or 4, as well as a date with the three-time defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 6.

The Jaguars originally wore the uniforms – which feature a black helmet with Jacksonville’ original logo on the sides, teal jerseys with a full-bodied jaguar on the sleeves and white pants with a teal, gold and black striping pattern down the sides – from 1998-2007.

They were revived and worn in two games last season, including a win over the Indianapolis Colts and a loss to the New York Jets. The Jaguars also wore their white alternate helmets in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings, maximizing the number of times they could wear an alternate or classic uniform.

The NFL has since revised its uniform policy and will now allow teams to wear alternate and/or throwback designs as many as four times this season, though that means Jacksonville is dropping its black alternate jerseys and white alternate helmets in order to wear the “Prowler” uniforms this often.

The Jaguars will also presumably paint the field at EverBank Stadium with a matching vintage design for the aforementioned games. Last year’s games featured their classic logo at midfield and black end zones with throwback wordmarks, as well as the old NFL and AFC logos, resembling their designs during the 1998 and 1999 playoffs.
